Leveraging Power for 2025 & Beyond

Dateline: November 2024. Federal elections did not go as we hoped. People we care about are at risk. Our country's futures and the world's future are uncertain.

If you are wondering what to do next, you are not alone. We definitely do not have all the answers. We don't agree with each other on everything, either. But we do know working together in a sustained way pays off, and giving up never got us anywhere.

"Normally," we in Arapahoe Dems would be resting after the election crunch and then regrouping for the next cycle. The resting part is complicated this time. The regrouping part will have its official kickoff on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at our county reorganization.

So if you are thinking about being part of a team, to join your neighbors and "put your shoulder to the wheel of history," keep Feb. 8 in mind! We'll have more info soon. (You can read about our 2023 reorg here if you like.)

What you can do now

Colorado, with its Democratic state government*, is in a position to fight back against the excesses of a MAGA federal government. Telling your state and local officials that you expect them to rise to the challenge is an action you can take any time, on your own or in groups large or small.

Our friends at Indivisible have provided a Blueprint for Blue States as a starting point.

And your local Democratic State House District (HD) team is a good way to start networking with Democrats nearby. Look up your own HD, then check our calendar for the next local meeting or other event.

*Pretty much.
